Abstract
There has been great progress in the treatment of multiple sclerosis in recent years. However, there is still a long way to go to achieve full success or the possibility of curing this disease. Therefore further efforts and research are needed. This also applies to other demyelinating diseases which are much rarer than multiple sclerosis, but also our knowledge of them is very limited. Research on pathogenesis, immunology, pathomorphology and treatment of multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases is carried out by, among others, European Charcot Foundation. The latest developments in this field are presented at its annual conferences. In 2019, the 27th edition of this conference (27th Annual Meeting of European Charcot Foundation) was held, devoted mainly to the role of B lymphocytes in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis, B-cell therapies and other demyelinating diseases with the presence of antibodies. This article presents the most interesting reports.
