Abstrakt
Podstawową grupą leków stosowanych w zaburzeniach dwubiegunowych są leki normotymiczne. Lamotrygina należy do najnowszej generacji tej grupy. Początkowo stosowana była głównie w leczeniu padaczki (blokowanie kanałów jonowych). Jej działanie normotymiczne polega na zapobieganiu nawrotom depresji i manii, stabilizacji szybkiej zmiany faz, a w ostrych epizodach chorobowych ma działanie przeciwdepresyjne.
