Abstract
Zofenopril belongs to new ACE-inhibitors and contains sulfhydryl group. Drug is distinguished by many unique properties including: lipophilicity, high tissue penetration, long duration of action and hypolipidemic effectiveness. According to controlled, randomized studies it was shown that zofenopril exerted beneficial effects in patients with acute myocardial infarction both with and without accompanying heart failure. During therapy zofenopril is well tolerated.
