Abstract
Sertraline is a very well-known and one of the most commonly used antidepressants. Thanks to its action profile and good tolerance, it is used in many groups of patients. It can be treated as a first-line drug in the treatment of any depressive episode, especially if accompanied by anxiety disorders. It is well studied in patients with cardiovascular diseases and has a favorable metabolic profile. All this makes it very useful in the practice of primary care physicians who often encounter patients with comorbid depression and somatic diseases.
