Abstract
Article summarizes the current position of loop diuretics in current guidelines on the treatment of heart failure and hypertension. It shows the differences in pharmacokinetics and clinical efficacy between furosemide and torasemide. Attention is drawn to the advantage of loop diuretics, especially in terms of tolerability and safety.
