Abstract

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) belongs to the popular pharmaceutical drugs of natural origin. It is mainly used in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, however it has wider therapeutic potential. The number of medical studies on elderberry exceeds 150 publications describing 41 therapeutic indications. In the work the most interesting of them are presented along with the analysis of selected papers.
