Abstrakt

Kandesartan charakteryzuje się najwyższą spośród antagonistów receptora angiotensynowego selektywnością wobec receptorów AT1, wykazuje wysoką biodostępność i całodobowe działanie hipotensyjne. Skuteczność hipotensyjna kandesartanu została udowodniona u pacjentów z nadciśnieniem tętniczym od łagodnego stopnia do ciężkiego nadciśnienia, zarówno dla monoterapii, jak i skojarzeń kandesartanu z antagonistą wapnia lub diuretykiem. Kandesartan zgodnie z aktualnymi wytycznymi może być stosowany do rozpoczynania terapii przeciwnadciśnieniowej, zwłaszcza wobec dostępności jego połączeń z lekami hipotensyjnymi innych klas w postaci leku złożonego. Bezpieczeństwo i bardzo dobra tolerancja kandesartanu czynią go lekiem przydatnym do stosowania przez kolejne lata terapii, a udowodnione właściwości kardio- i neuroprotekcyjne pozwalają korzystnie wpływać na rokowanie sercowo-naczyniowe pacjentów.
