Abstract

An amendment to the act about professions of the nurse and for the midwife expanded current entitlements of the nursing staff and obstetric for the possibility of the statute of medical products and medical products, independently or as part of the continuation of medical orders.

Possibility of using the entitlement is being conditioned with the education and the fact of undergoing the specialist course. This entitlement, especially in writing out prescriptions and orders for medical products, is gaining the special significance with reference to conducting the holistic patient care with chronic disease so as the multiple sclerosis. It is also becoming part of a concept of model of the comprehensive patient care in clinic conditions, of the hospitalization and the home care. Similar solutions were implemented, in the different scope, in many other countries of the world. It is carrying benefits with itself above all for patients, especially in the coordinated care, but also development of own competence of the nursing staff.
