Abstract

Gastroesophageal reflux disease is frequent, recurrent disease. Clinical manifestations are various, with typical esophageal or extraesophageal symptoms. Endoscopical diagnosis is necessary in case of alarm symptoms, in elderly patients and before the surgical treatment. Proton pump inhibitors are fundamental in medical treatment.
