Infectious rhinitis Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Rhinitis is a common complaint in family doctor practice, both in adults and children. Rhinitis can also be broadly divided into allergic and non-allergic, or using the criterion of the duration of symptoms – acute (usually infectious, lasting about 5–7 days) and chronic (complex pathomechanism; usually lasting >14 days). Treatment involves symptomatic and pharmacological procedures, in which the main role is played by sympathomimetics applied topically, including xylometazoline. The article presents the principles of treatment of infectious rhinitis in children.
