Myocardial revascularization in 2010 – based on Guidelines on myocardial revascularization of ESC and EACTS. Part I – PCI in stable angina Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
New Guidelines on Myocardial Revascularization were recently published at the end of 2010 by European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS). Optimal revascularization seems to be the most important topic of this document. All stable coronary artery disease, multivessel or left main disease patients should be reviewed by heart team of clinical/non-invasive cardiologist, a cardiac surgeon and an interventional cardiologist before revascularization procedure. Clinical multidisciplinary decision must determine the likelihood of safe and effective revascularization (PCI or CABG) in every case. This paper summarize most important issues of revascularization in stable angina. Next part will concern the optimal revascularization treatment in acute coronary syndromes.
