Abstract

The new guidelines on management of dyslipidaemias announced by the task force for the management of dyslipidaemias of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) provide a valuable review of current state of knowledge for clinical practitioners. The document consists of 12 chapters on cardiovascular risk stratification, interpretation of lipid profiles, therapeutic targets, life style changes, pharmacotherapy of dyslipidaemia, treatment monitoring and adherence to therapy. We provide a brief review of the recommendation.
