Abstract

Furosemide and torasemide are the strongest diuretics. They differ in pharmacokinetic properties. Furosemide reaches a maximum concentration of 1 to 5 hours after oral administration. Maximum concentration time for torasemide is 1 to 2 hours and therefore the drug activity onset time is predictable. Torasemide compared with furosemide causes less rapid micturition and spread evenly throughout the day.
