Abstract

Rational associating analgesics with complementary mechanisms of action is a modern and increasingly selected therapeutic referred to as omni-analgesia or balanced analgesia. Selection of such therapeutic treatment allows to improve the quality of analgesia (increase the analgesic potency as compared to the drugs administered as monotherapy) and also improve the tolerability and safety of the treatment. A well-known and effective association of reduced doses of the two painkillers is a combination of tramadol and paracetamol. Current commercially available oral form of the drug sustained-release allow for the efficient and stable analgesia while improving compliance in the treatment of pain.
