Abstract

Infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract are still an important medical and economic problem. Nowadays we are experiencing significant difficulties in treating infections, mainly due to the growing problem of antibiotic resistance. It is believed that antibiotic resistance is the epidemic of the 21st century. Oral immunomodulatory drugs of bacterial origin have been used for many years in clinical practice. The paper presents the publications, including the results of previous research and current research. The current situation justifies the prospect of improving the immune system in patients with recurrent respiratory infections.
