The influence of chronic dermatosis on the patient environment Discussion
Main Article Content
Abstract
Among patients with dermatoses a significant reduction in quality of life is observed. The problem is that skin lesions are visible to others, which increases the level of stigmatization, the sense of social rejection. In recent years more attention is paid to the influence of dermatological diseases on the environment. The illness of one person in the family causes measurable psychological stress for all family members. Interpersonal relationships are also disturbed both within the family and outside the family itself. All family members are burdened with the need to devote more time to the ill person. The patient can not perform or has to reduce normal everyday activities such as atopic dermatitis should avoid exposure to irritants or allergens. This may also have an effect on the family.
