Abstract

Abandoning treatment among dermatological patients is complex concerns not only resignation from the treatment but also lack of usage the drugs as recommended by the doctors. Causes among others include duration, severity, and ineffectiveness of treatment that affects non-compliance. Co-occurrence of secondary symptoms of depressive and anxiety disorders may also be the factors leading to discontinuation or non-treatment. Attention is paid to compliance and concordance as different strategies of the patient–doctor relationship. In the case of psychodermatoses, occasionally we observe refusal for the treatment due to lack of insight into the disease.
