Abstract
In recent years there has been developed medications allowing individualization of diabetes treatment. These are mainly flosins (2012), acting independently of insulin, by excreting glucose in the urine. In this paper we present a summary of information on the efficacy, safety and recommendations regarding the use of empagliflozin – oral, once-daily, highly selective sodium- glucose 2 co-transporter inhibitor.
