Abstrakt
Najsilniej działająca hipolipemizująco statyna – rosuwastatyna – jest jednocześnie bardzo bezpiecznym lekiem, co wykazano w niezależnych analizach bezpieczeństwa i tolerancji, a częstość zaprzestawania terapii tym lekiem, wynikająca z występowania działań niepożądanych, jest porównywalna z innymi statynami. Hydrofilność cząsteczki, niewielki metabolizm wątrobowy oraz brak metabolizowania leku na drodze izoenzymu cytochromu P450 3A4 wpływają na mniejsze ryzyko miotoksyczności i niepożądanych interakcji lekowych w trakcie terapii rosuwastatyną.
