Abstrakt
Infekcje górnych i dolnych dróg oddechowych stanowią ciągle istotny problem medyczny i ekonomiczny. Aktualnie obserwujemy znaczące trudności w leczeniu infekcji, wynikające głównie z narastającego problemu antybiotykooporności. Uważa się, że antybiotykooporność to epidemia XXI w. Doustne leki immunomodulujące pochodzenia bakteryjnego od wielu lat są stosowane w praktyce klinicznej. W pracy przedstawiono publikacje obejmujące wyniki wcześniej przeprowadzonych badań i badania aktualne. Obecna sytuacja uzasadnia poszukiwanie możliwości poprawy funkcjonowania układu immunologicznego u pacjentów z nawracającymi infekcjami oddechowymi.
