Abstrakt

Terapie przeciwnowotworowe wydłużają życie pacjentów onkologicznych, lecz u niektórych z nich korzyści te niwelowane są przez powikłania ze strony układu sercowo-naczyniowego. Ich liczba wzrosła na skutek lepszej wczesnej wykrywalności kardiotoksyczności wywołanej przez chemio- i radioterapię. Z tego względu profilaktyka, wykrywanie i monitorowanie kardiotoksyczności oraz leczenie pacjentów onkologicznych narażonych na takie ryzyko i/lub mających współistniejące choroby układu krążenia jest bardzo ważnym nowym trendem na Ukrainie służącym poprawie klinicznych efektów leczenia. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono argumenty uzasadniające powołanie Oddziału Kardioonkologii oraz skromne doświadczenia autorów zdobyte podczas jego tworzenia.
