Abstrakt

W Polsce nie ma powszechnie obowiązujących standardów w leczeniu zaburzeń depresyjnych. Z tego powodu terapia jest oparta głównie na doświadczeniu klinicznym lekarzy i wyborze maksymalnie bezpiecznych leków. Trazodon, klasyfikowany jako lek przeciwdepresyjny typu SARI (antagonista i inhibitor wychwytu zwrotnego serotoniny), charakteryzuje się wysoką skutecznością kliniczną w terapii depresji, a równocześnie w wielu aspektach lepszym profilem bezpieczeństwa niż inne leki przeciwdepresyjne. Trazodon korzystnie oddziałuje na sen, redukuje lęk i poprawia funkcjonowanie seksualne. Jest bezpieczny u pacjentów w podeszłym wieku. Pozycja kliniczna trazodonu jest dobrze ustalona w praktyce lekarskiej w Polsce, jako głównej, bezpiecznej alternatywy dla leków przeciwdepresyjnych z klasy SSRI.
