Abstract
The staff employed in psychiatric facilities, including a large group of nurses, is exposed to various stressors related to the performance of professional duties. Work overload, the responsibility for the patient’s life, experiencing negative emotions associated with working, lack of satisfaction with regard to the salary and negative feedback in professional teams – these are some of the factors that may affect the development of the burnout syndrome. This paper provides an analysis of the factors that may influence the development of this syndrome. The study included sociodemographic factors and the five-level burnout scale. The study aimed to depict a profile of nurses who are at risk of the burnout syndrome.
