Abstrakt
Większość chorujących na stwardnienie rozsiane skarży się na zawroty głowy lub zaburzenia równowagi. Ostre zawroty głowy mogą być objawem pierwszego rzutu choroby i przypominać zapalenie neuronu przedsionkowego. Podstawową przyczyną zawrotów głowy są zmiany demielinizacyjne w ośrodkowej części układu przedsionkowego, przede wszystkim w root entry zone nerwu VIII. Trudności z utrzymaniem równowagi mogą być spowodowane także ataksją móżdżkową, upośledzeniem czucia głębokiego lub porażeniem międzyjądrowym powodującym oscylopsję. W pracy przedstawiono epidemiologię, patogenezę, symptomatologię i leczenie zawrotów głowy oraz zaburzeń równowagi w stwardnieniu rozsianym.
