Abstrakt

Children and teenagers with physical disabilities, related to cerebral palsy or myelomeningocele, present a relatively high self-esteem and rate well or very well their quality of life. However, the social skills of physically disabled young people are substantially handicapped. They have problems when creating social relationships. They look distant despite the fact they declare a similar number of friends when compared to other peers. Their rehabilitation depends mostly on the attitude of acceptance of their parents or attendants in childhood, following by giving the children rational freedom when they grow up.
