Treatment of allergic rhinitis in Europe and the USA – are we an ocean apart?

Abstract
More than 200 million people all over the world suffer from rhinitis. During the last 30 years in Europe as well as in the USA, allergic rhinitis has become the most common chronic noninfectious inflammatory disease of respiratory tract in adults and children. The uniform guidelines for proceedings in allergic rhinitis have been sought for many years. ARIA document has become an important step towards it. The authors present treatment guidelines for allergic rhinitis developed by European and American scientific societies.
