Abstract

Persistent allergic rhinitis is the most common allergic disease in the population of Poland. Mites and animal derived allergens are main aetiological factors. The exposure to mites allergens is similar during the year, though the highest in cooler months. According to PoSLeNN and ARIA 2010 recommendations intranasal corticosteroids are considered the first line drugs for all stages of persistent allergic rhinitis. The paper presents the case of an 35 year-old man with symptoms of persistent allergic rhinitis in the course of dust mite allergy, and acute sinusitis as the result of complications.
