Season of hazel, alder and birch pollination in Bydgoszcz in 2014

Abstract

The course of hazel, alder and birch pollen season in Bydgoszcz in year 2014 is presented. Measurements were performed with volumetric method (Lanzoni pollen sampler). Pollen season is defined as the period when 98% of the annual total catch occurred. The peak of hazel pollen season was recorded in the 2nd and 3rd decade of February. The peak of alder pollen season in 2014 in Bydgoszcz was recorded in the 2nd half of February and 1st half of March. The presence of birch pollen was noted in Bydgoszcz in the 1st decade of April. The highest daily birch pollen count of 1543 birch grains per m3 of air was found on April 7. Seasonal Pollen Index of birch reached 17 373.
