Shrubs with toxic features

Abstract
The paper contains information about shrubs which have toxic features and are distributed and cultivated in Poland. Characteristics of 14 species of plants are also presented: Buxus sempervirens, Daphne mezereum, Hedera helix, Hydrangea paniculata, Juniperus sabina, Ligustrum vulgare, Lonicera caprifolium, Lonicera xylosteum, Lycium barbarum, Mahonium aquifolium, Rhamnus cathartica, Symphoricarpos albus, Thuja occidentalis, Vinca minor. The authors list biologically active toxic substances contained in the organs of these plants and the symptoms which may occur after consumption.
