Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the pollen season of hazel (Corylus), alder (Alnus), birch (Betula), grasses (Poaceae) and mugwort (Artemisia) in Białystok in 2012. The measurements were performed by volumetric method with the use of VPPS Lanzoni trap. The pollen season was determined as the period in which 95% of the annual total catch occurred. The birch pollen was found to be in prevalence among aeroplankton in 2012. High risk of allergic symptoms development was found for birch in the Spring and in the Summer for grasses. The low concentrations of hazel pollen in the air of Białystok was observed.
