Abstract

Prevalence of allergy to pets has increased rapidly over last decades as a consequence of lifestyle changes that have enhanced exposure to animal allergens. This kind of allergy plays important role in the etiology of allergic rhinitis and asthma. Because of the transportability of these allergens on clothing even in homes without pets are registered elevated levels of pets allergens. The objective for this article was to show the most important animal allergens and evaluate possible measures as regards prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
