Abstract

Day-to-day ENT practice offers evidence of beneficial effects of nasal douching with sea water solutions. The authors present their own experience and literature review concerning the role of nasal saline irrigations in practice. The topical saline could be used as a treatment adjunct in the symptoms of acute and chronic rhinosinusitis and allergic rhinitis that enhances the effect of treatment, improves the quality of life and is well tolerated.
