Alternaria spore count in the air of Bialystok in 2010

Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the course of Alternaria season in the air of Białystok in 2010. The measurements were performed by volumetric method with the use of VPPS Lanzoni. The Alternaria season was defined as the period in which 90% of the annual total catch occurred. The Alternaria season began on the 22nd of June and the highest concentration of spores was observed on the 22nd of August (933 Alternaria spores/1 m3). The fifty-eight days with the concentration over 80 s/m3 were noted, including 56 days with the concentration over 100 spores/m3.
