The analyses of mugwort pollen count in Wroclaw in 2010

Abstract
The aim of the study was to characterize the mugwort pollen season in Wroclaw in 2010. Measurements were performed by the volumetric method with the Burkard trap. The duration of pollen season was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. It has been shown that the mugwort pollen season started in the third decade of July, which is over 7 days later according to past few years. Seasonal pollen index (SPI) was estimated as annual sum of daily average pollen concentration. In 2010, there was a slight threat of mugwort allergens due to the low SPI as well as low daily pollen count.
