Abstract

This paper presents the effect of meteorological variables on the course of ash pollen seasons in 2009 and 2010 in Szczecin. Measurements were performed by the volumetric method (Lanzoni pollen sampler). Pollen season was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. The differences of pollen seasons duration ware insignificant. The highest, record airborne concentration (226 p/m3) was recorded in 2010 on the 18th of April. The pollen concentration distributions during pollen seasons are strongly skewed to the right. In Szczecin statistically significant correlation was found between the pollen count of Fraxinus versus the rainfall, relative humidity and maximum temperature.
