Hazel pollen in Szczecin (2009–2010)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of the study was to compare the pollen seasons of hazel (2009–2010) in Szczecin and meteorological variables. Measurements were performed by the volumetric method (Lanzoni pollen sampler). Pollen season was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. The differences of pollen seasons duration ware considerable. In 2010 the pollen season of hazel started 9 days earlier than in 2009. The highest, record airborne concentration (205 p/m3) was recorded in 2010 and it was two times higher than in 2009. The pollen concentration distributions during pollen seasons are strongly skewed to the right. In Szczecin statistically significant correlation was found between the pollen count of Corylus versus the relative humidity and maximum temperature. The period with pollen count over an allergenic significantly value lasted 6–8 days.
