The analysis of mugwort pollen count in selected Polish cities in 2008

Abstract
This paper presents the course of mugwort pollen season in selected cites of Poland in 2008. The measurements were performed in Sosnowiec, Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Lublin, Olsztyn, Warszawa, Wrocław and Szczecin, use of volumetric method with Burkard and Lanzoni Spore Trap. The duration of the pollen seasons was defined as the period in which 98% of the annual total catch occurred. The pollen seasons of mugwort started first in Szczecin (18th June), the latest in Bydgoszcz, Białystok and Olsztyn (27th and 28th August). The highest daily pollen count, that reached the level of 223 mugwort pollen grains/m3, was recorded in Wrocław on the 11th of August.
