Neuropsychiatry Review article

Abstract
Neuropsychiatry is a part of medicine dealing with mental disorders attributable to diseases of the central nervous system. For some, it preceded the current disciplines of psychiatry and neurology, and for others, it expresses the real and growing overlap between both subspecialties. Some physicians and scientists argue for a rapprochement of neurology and psychiatry, forming a specialty above and beyond psychiatry and neurology. Today, neuropsychiatry has become a growing subspecialty of psychiatry, especially propelled by functional neuroimaging and is also closely related to behavioral neurology, focused on quality of life of neurological patients.
