Abstrakt

W pierwszej połowie bieżącego roku ukazały się nowe zalecenia Polskiego Towarzystwa Nadciśnienia Tętniczego dotyczące postępowania z pacjentami z nadciśnieniem tętniczym. Jest to aktualizacja wytycznych z 2008 r. Wprowadzone zmiany dotyczą głównie modyfikacji progowych wartości ciśnienia tętniczego, od jakich należy rozpocząć leczenie, a także preferowanych leków hipotensyjnych. Obecne zalecenia uwzględniają opublikowane w ostatnim czasie wyniki badań klinicznych oraz zalecenia Europejskiego Towarzystwa Nadciśnieniowego (ESH) z 2009 r.
