Abstract

Polish Hypertension Society has recently published new guidelines on the management of patients with high blood pressure, updating its previous 2008 guidelines. The new guidelines include some major changes regarding such issues as threshold and target blood pressure values for drug therapy, and preference of some antihypertensive drugs over the other. The update is mainly based on new data from clinical studies reported in the recent years, and the latest European Society of Hypertension statement published in 2009.
