Abstract
Pain is the most frequent symptom of locomotor system-related diseases. It occurs at any age, but more frequently it affects older people. Pain therapy relates to the use of anti-inflammatory oral medicine, which can cause a plethora of side effects. The alternative for oral medicine is a topical treatment, especially for pain caused by injuries and in the early stages of a osteoarthritis. Etofenamate has a unique position among topical medications. Its effectiveness compared to popular topical preparations has been proven in clinical trials. The drug is especially recommended for elderly patients or those with contraindications for the treatment of oral NSAIDs.
