Abstract

The number of patients with implanted pacemakers or cardioverter-defibrillators keeps growing. To correctly evaluate the ECG in patients with such devices it is necessary to combine the general rules of electrocardiograms’ interpretation and the knowledge of implanted devices. As a result, it won’t be difficult to properly interpret even the most difficult ECG examinations. Each patient with a pacemaker has also a pacemaker patient identification card in which information’s about the device are gathered and may be useful during ECG analysis. In this article we present the examples of the electrocardiograms and their interpretation.
