Basic reconstructive techniques in surgical treatment of mitral valve regurgitation Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Reconstructive operations in surgical treatment of mitral valve incompetence are now a golden standard. Patient referred to those types of operations should be properly diagnosed. It is obligatory to know etiology, pathology and dysfunction of the mitral valve before the operation. Numerous reconstructive techniques let surgeons to adopt the best one to the pathology and dysfunction discovered during the operation with good clinical in-hospital and long-term results. A mutual understanding between cardiologists and cardiac surgeons concerning the mentioned earlier items would enable the best option for the patients suffering from the mitral regurgitation.
