Aortic valve sparing operations Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Mechanical valve prostheses are widely used for aortic valve and aortic root surgery. They are associated with anticoagulant therapy and significant risk of complications. Aortic valve sparing surgery requires an approach which is determined by aortic root anatomy and physiology. Preservation of the native aortic valve structures during aortic valve sparing procedure allows avoiding mechanical prosthesis implantations and restores durable valve function.
