Abstract

Stress-induced cardiomyopathy is an increasingly reported syndrome characterized by transient regional left ventricle dysfunction in absence of significant coronary artery disease. The article gives an update on takotsubo cardiomyopathy, its pathomechanism, including predisposing factors, also on clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis. Additionally, article proposes a treatment algorithm according to current guidelines.
