Usefulness of three-dimensional echocardiography in pediatric cardiology Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Three-dimensional echocardiography is a novel and rapidly developing approach of noninvasive diagnostics in cardiology and valuable extension of two-dimensional imaging. Accuracy of it’s results is comparable with cardiac magnetic resonance and computed tomography while it’s accessibility is significantly higher and constantly expanding. The most substantial role of three-dimensional echocardiography was proved especially in cardiac chambers’ quantification, diagnostics of congenital and acquired heart defects as well as their follow-up and direct monitoring of invasive treatment. While technical limitations of three-dimensional echocardiography are eliminated, it’s value in pediatric cardiology will expand.
