New guidelines for the management of valvular heart disease according to AHA/ACC 2014 Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
The AHA/ACC 2014 guidelines for the management of valvular heart disease offer new practical recommendations of diagnosis and treatment of valve disease. They contain a four-stage classification of valve disease progression based on valve anatomy, hemodynamics and clinical symptoms. The guidelines propose a new surgical risk assessment scheme with individual risk-benefit analysis. They suggest a multidisciplinary approach (Heart Valve Team) for management of valve disease.
