The use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in patients with arterial hypertension Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Arterial hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular risk factors. At the same time, population of hypertensive patients is in general very heterogenous as far as initial total cardiovascular risk is concerned. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are one of the most frequently used drugs worldwide. Long-term use of these drugs increases total cardiovascular risk. In everyday practice, many patients with arterial hypertension are in need of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, both occasionally and in long-term. In this article, the author deals with potential side effects linked to such a use.
