Approach to elective gastrointestinal endoscopy in patients with cardiovascular diseases Review article
Main Article Content
Abstract
Patients with cardiovascular diseases are characterized by administering frequently many medications affecting blood pressure or volemia. Appropriate approach to patient with cardiovascular diseases is of great importance both during bowel preparation before and in anesthesia during endoscopic procedures. In this group of patients agents affecting clotting properties are often used. Knowledge on basic rules on anticoagulant treatment in individuals awaiting elective endoscopic procedures is vital for their safety.
