Abstract

Hypertension is a significant risk factor of cardiovascular diseases. One of the ways to achieve satisfactory blood pressure control is combination therapy. We discuss a combination of ACE inhibitor and calcium channel blocker based on an example of enalapril and lercanidipine as two representative drugs which are not only effective in their hypotensive activity, but also may offer some additional metabolic benefits.
